Craftsmen Cares

The “Craftsmen Way” includes our motto – “Work Hard. Play Hard. Do Good.” Doing Good has always been important to Craftsmen and its employees. Over the years, we have always been willing to go above and beyond to give back to the communities we serve by supporting many great causes throughout the year!

Craftsmen Cares is dedicated to giving back to the communities where we live and work, with a special focus on helping underprivileged kids and families in need.

In 2016, Craftsmen took Doing Good to the next level by establishing Craftsmen Cares, our own 501 ©(3) Foundation that is dedicated to giving back with a special focus on helping under-privileged children and families in need. With more than 75% of our employees donating to Craftsmen Cares on an annual basis combined with our company match program, Craftsmen Cares is able to provide help and assistance to even more folks in the communities we serve.

Our Featured Programs

PEDALING TOWARDS PERFECTION

Our “Pedaling towards Perfection” program was initiated by the Craftsmen Family in 2009. After delivering backpacks to a school, we asked the principal what was her biggest challenge? She stated, “Getting the kids to school every day so they have the opportunity to learn.” With that, we developed a program that rewarded a student with a Free Bike if they achieved perfect attendance during the school year. Perfect attendance went from 3 students to 43 students in the first year . . . and the rest is history! In addition to delivering hundreds of Bikes to well deserving students over the years, Student Test Scores have improved significantly!
Since the launch of this program, we have expanded our efforts to include all three of our locations, allowing us to help more and more families each year.

READERS ARE LEADERS

Another fantastic program we developed with the help of our friends at Blackhurst Elementary has been our “Readers are Leaders” Program. Several years ago, the school facing with the challenge of developing the reading skills of their students, a program was created with the goal of reading more books during the school year!
Students who completed the program were rewarded at the end of the school year with new books that could be read over the summer. In the first year, 25,000 books were read! In our fifth year, students are on pace to read 50,000 books! Again, Student Test Scores have improved dramatically!

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA

In 2019, Craftsmen and Utility Trailer Manufacturing teamed up to donate a wreath for every new Utility trailer sold that year. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from not only our employees but also our customers and vendor partners. All three of our locations put together donation teams to help lay wreaths at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Rock Island National Cemetery and Missouri State National Cemetery.
Craftsmen and Utility are incredibly proud to help support our veterans and spread awareness of the Wreaths Across America mission: Remember, Honor and Teach.
